Who is it for - Adults with Learning Disabilities

There will be 8 races for you to place bets on and a raffle on the night – plenty of chances to get lucky! 

And you can buy a horse before the event. It’s just £2 to buy a horse in a race. If your horse wins its race, then you get a prize!

Parent and Carer Workshop: Neurodiversity Exams & Revision Skills

We are delighted to invite parents and carers of Wirral Grammar School for Girls to a Parent Workshop on Neurodiversity and Exam Revision & Preparation, which will take place on 18th March 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at Wirral Grammar School for Girls.

This event is designed to offer valuable support to families on how best to support neurodiverse children in the run up to examinations. Whether your child is currently on a pathway, has a diagnosis, or you would simply like to learn more, this workshop is open to all. The outcome of the session is to empower parents and carers with knowledge and practical advice and strategies to support children who may experience neurodiverse conditions, including ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental differences. The session will be delivered by Dr Fiona Conway, an Educational Psychologist with Wirral Local Authority’s Educational Psychology service and link for Wirral Grammar School for Girls, alongside two assistant educational psychologists Emma Little and James King.

Join us for a unique, fun-filled family event that will transport you to the deck of the Titanic!

Led by our team of researchers and volunteers, this event is designed to be inclusive, educational, and entertaining for everyone. Whether you’re passionate about history, love crafts, or just want to enjoy quality screen-free time with your loved ones, this is the perfect event for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Interactive Games and Crafts: Play one of the popular Titanic games- Shuffleboard, design a Titanic hat, and hear from our amazing local survivor Elizabeth Leather, about 2 other survivor stories.

Sensory Room: A calming and supportive space for those with sensory needs, ensuring everyone can participate in the day’s fun and a SENDCO on hand to help.

Free Admission: For eligible families (SEND, or Magenta Living residents) see link on booking page to request free tickets.

For everyone else, £7 per young person (adults are free)

A 6-week program designed to support parents and caregivers. Covering topics like communication, challenging behaviour, sleep issues, sensory needs, and emotional regulation, this course is led by trainers with lived experience of SEND children.

The Smiley Group

For - parents and carers of pre school children with speech and language needs

Cost - £4 per child

The SMILEY group supports young children’s speech and language needs

The group runs every Monday 11am - 12noon. There is a charge of £4 per child.

With a blend of techniques to develop tongue and mouth muscles, makaton for supporting positive communication and animal yoga for to support strength and movement, these fun and exciting sessions are a fabulously fun way to promote learning.

This group is supported by the local NHS Speech and Language Team who join us monthly. To book on or join the waiting list please contact Equilibrium.
